Longtime area Realtor Pete Howard, 79, dies of Covid

Word has been received of the death of longtime Wayland-area Realtor Pete Howard Saturday, Oct. 2, at Holland Hospital. He was 79.

His son, Mike, posted on Facebook, “Howard contracted the Delta version of Covid a little over a week ago. We thought he would come through it as he was vaccinated, he’s come back from several close calls in the past. The attack of Covid however, was more than his heart could overcome.”

Born Sept. 17, 1942, and a Hopkins High School graduate, Howard had worked for Buehler Realty and Greenwood Realty. He was active with the Allegan County Republican Party and the local Chamber of Commerce.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct 15, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home in Wayland. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct 16, with an hour of visitation at the church prior to mass at St. Therese Church in Wayland.
Burial will be  immediately after the funeral at Elmwood Cemetery and there will be luncheon at the Wayland VFW.
