Longtime Christian Reformed member Evalene Tein dies

Evalene Tein died Wednesday, April 19, at age 92.
Evalene was born on Aug. 10, 1924 in Grand Haven to Cornelius and Gertrude VandenBrand. She married Alfred Tein on May 8, 1946, and he preceded her in death in June 2002.
Evalene was an avid reader and enjoyed a giraffe collection which she loved to share with others. She and Al were longtime members of Wayland Christian Reformed Church which they considered their second family.
Evalene is survived by daughter Carole (Bruce) Cole, son Loren “Jim” Tein, daughter Phyllis (Terrill M.) Clark, and son, Brian (Teresa) Tein. Evalene is also survived by her grandchildren Brendan Cole, Luke Tein, Eric (Cassy) Jorgensen, Erin (Ryan) Henson, Soney (Heather) Walton, Andy Tein, Sarah and Julie VanDyke and Jenny (Nick) Cook, as well as several great grand-children, nieces, nephews and her sister-in-law.
Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Barbara J. Schwemberger and son-in-law Joseph Schwemberger, along with her daughter-in-law Mavis Tein.
