Hopkins native’s luncheon and service is Wednesday

Grace Eliza (Tuttle) Thorpe, 85, of Allegan, died Friday, Nov. 11, at the Wings of Hope Home in Allegan.

Born Aug. 22, 1937, in Hopkins Township, she was the daughter of the late Harry Sullivan Tuttle and Cora Eliza (Parmalee) Tuttle.

Grace worked for quite awhile at Holiday Floral delivering flowers. Some of the best times and memories she had were of her involvement with the Allegan Eagles, Ladies Auxiliary and the Elks Lodge, where she flourished making many friends, sharing her culinary gifts and helping organize and participate in events and fund-raisers in the community.

Gracie loved spending time with her beloved friends, going to garage sales, the casino and her weekly poker games.

Surviving are Randy (Jamie) Thorpe, and Lori (Dale) Bolenbaugh; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Rick, and her brothers, Don, Bill and Harvey, and her sisters, Eunice and Marie.

A celebration of Grace’s life and luncheon will take place at the Allegan Eagles from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 16.
