The weather outlook late Friday and early Saturday was downright gloomy, threatening the pleasures of the annual Main Street celebration in downtown Wayland. Indeed a bizarre thundershower rolled into town about 10:30 a.m. Saturday under unique and fast-moving clouds, dampening the car show at the City Park for a spell. But conditions changed again with the rain clearing out and the sun made a triumphant return. The good news was that the really awful 90-plus degree temperatures didn’t come back with itand was replaced by less of a hardship with temps in the upper 80s. The bad news was that mosquitoes decided to drop in en masse. But, as they say in the entertainment biz, “The show must go on.”
