“Yes that is true,” said Mike Salisbury, owner of the Reno Insurance Agency and a former member of the Downtown Development Authority. “All I know is what she told the board and that is that she wanted to go to grad school.”

Najar came on board last September, succeeding Alicia Zylstra, who had been in the position for four years before leaving to start a family.

Najar earlier had been assistant business manager at American RV in the greater Grand Rapids area. succeeds Alicia Verardi Zylstra, who announced in Najar is a 2013 graduate of Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. While at WMU, she was a teaching assistant in forensic psychology.

She also has had extensive experience in the work place in web marketing, social media marketing, advertising and customer service. She also was receptionist at American RV.

The Main Street director is responsible for facilitating business expansion and recruitment, developing fund-raising programs, creating incentives and programming to support district businesses, and streetscape improvements in the downtown district.
