Martin activist named to Internet broadband group

Austin Marsman of Martin has been appointed to serve on the new Broadband Action Workgroup by the Allegan County Board of Commissioners.

The workgroup was formed by the Allegan County Board of Commissioners earlier this year. The group brings together various backgrounds in education, business, agriculture and local government to push for the expansion of broadband Internet in Allegan County.

“I am excited to be part of the coalition pushing for broadband expansion in all corners of our county,” Marsman said.

He also said he believes that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought to light just how important a good Internet connection is, as families shifted to working and learning from home.

Marsman has been on the Martin Board of Education for over six months and serves on the Michigan Youth Education Fund Board of Directors.
