Martin notched its first win of the season against Zion Christian Tuesday night, 55 to 46.

The Mountaineers kept up with Martin for much of the first half, trailing only 21-20.

As the second half progressed, however, the Clippers really began to execute and build a solid lead. Cayden Curry, a sophomore, led the Clippers in scoring with a season-high 23 points and Carter Hilton was good for 11 points. Clayton Gearling and Logan Elkins both put up 6 points.

Coach Brad Moelker said he is realizing his team’s potential. “We are such a dangerous team in some aspects and we are starting to see that on the court.”

The 1-2 Clipper boys will travel to face Coloma on Friday, seeking to even their record before a neighborhood rivalry game in Delton next week.
