Martin environmental warrior speaks at rally despite rain

Austin Marsman, a graduating senior at Martin High School, was one of the speakers Monday afternoon in a very soggy Rally for the Environment at the Yankee Springs State Park. Roosevelt Beach, Gun Lake. The inclement weather held down the number of attendees. One of of the brave who endured the rain was Kathryn Bamberg, Democratic Party candidate for Third District Allegan County Commissioner. She commented, “I attended the Rally for the Environment yesterday at Yankee Springs with my new hero, Austin Marsman. Austin was a driving force at getting solar panels installed on the roof of his high school in Martin, which now has a goal of becoming 95% alternative energy powered.” Marsman, who also is a reporter for Townbroadcast, will attend Grand Valley State University this fall and serve on the staff the student newspaper, The Lanthorn.
