A man brandishing a handgun robbed the Clark gas station in downtown Martin, but was apprehended later Monday night.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s office responded to the call at about 8:40 p.m. in Martin Village.
Authorities said the suspect showed a handgun and held the clerk and manager at gunpoint.
“After the suspect left the gas station the manager chased after the suspect,” Lt. Scott Matice of the sheriff’s department said. “The suspect got into a vehicle and the manager of the gas station followed the suspect. The manager was able to follow until the suspect was stopped and taken into custody.”
The suspect was arrested on several felony charges. His name will be released after he is arraigned.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s office was assisted by Plainwell Department of Public Safety, Michigan State Police and Otsego Police Department.
