Martin man sentenced for Internet sex solicitation

Alexander Bogdan

A Martin man was sentenced to four days in jail and five years probation and must also pay fines and costs in connection with charges he solicited sex with a minor over the Internet.

Alexander Bogdan, 33, was one of six men who were arrested by the Kalamazoo Human Oppression Strike Team, or KHOST, in August. Members of the task force posed as juveniles on hundreds of sites and apps and messaged with him along with five other people who were looking to have sex with minors.

Bogdan pleaded guilty in September for soliciting sex from teen-agers on line. He pleaded to charges of accosting a child for immoral purposes, aggravated indecent exposure and computer crimes.

Among the group arrested was Joshua Knapp, 43, of Wayland.

The strike team arrested three men last April. Authorities said the men thought they were talking with a 15-year-old girl over the Internet when they asked for sex. However, they were communicating with an undercover police officer. When the men arranged to meet up at a Kalamazoo-area hotel, they were arrested.

Four days…… too bad, I am rather confident we would be popular in the pen.
