Martin High School seniors (Class of 2020) will be honored at 8:20 p.m. at the high school football stadium, where lights will come on and stay lit for 20 minutes.
Seniors will line the west end of the football stadium and stay in their cars, practicing social distancing. Parents, staff and community members will park in the high school parking lot, also practicing social distancing.
Students then at 8:45 p.m. will be escorted by the Martin Fire Department through the village, toward the highway. The student parade will return to the high school parking lot. Parents, staff and community members have been invited to line Allegan Street to support the seniors.
“Martin is a very small school district, but we have a large community support system,” said Superintendent Brooke Ballee-Stone. “Our school is the center of the village and community! Thirty-three seniors are set to graduate on May 29.
“This event is just one way we can show our support and honor them as they have given their last 13 years to Martin Public Schools: academically, musically, and through athletics and clubs. They have left a piece of their career in the hearts of all staff members. This class has had many successes and we are very proud of their accomplishments.”
