The Martin Township Board Wednesday evening adopted a balanced general fund budget of about $308,000.
It was noted that the largest source of income is state shared revenue, totaling $169,390. Property taxes from the less than one mill levied amounts to $78,567.88.
Salaries of local officials are a very small portion of the budget. The clerk has an annual salary of $24,875, the supervisor $10,210, the treasurer $19,647 and two township trustees $6,880.
Separate budgets include roads, which shows a balance of $322,916.44; the fire department budget, which shows $155,843, and the J.C. Wheeler Library, with $66,719.
The 2016-17 fiscal year budget begins July 1 and runs through June 30, 2017.
