Martin senior forward Faith Guritz was named to the second unit of the Kalamazoo area girls’ basketball “Dream Team” selected by MLive.com
In addition, her teammates, Kiaya and Brianna Warner and Jaclyn Hildebrand, earned honorable mention accolades. Wayland’s Stephanie Ainsworth and Parrish Hudson were honorable mention selections for Grand Rapids.
Guritz, a 5-foot-10 senior forward, reached the 1,000-point plateau and led Martin to its best season in more than a decade with a 22-1 record overall. She averaged 12.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.8 steals, 1.6 assists and 0.7 blocks per game, while shooting 37 percent from three-point range.
Ainsworth played a major role in Wayland’s 14-9 season, joining Presley Hudson and Angie Farmer in holding the school record by scoring 40 points in one game.
