Myrtle Alice Sevenski, age 89, died Saturday, Feb 18.
She was born Aug. 14, 1928, to Albert and Geneva Pope in Lansing.
She and her husband Joseph lived and raised their family in Lansing and retired to Elmira, Joe’s childhood home. Myrtle was a member of Local 724 Woman’s Auxiliary and volunteered for the Democratic Party. She enjoyed card games and card parties, going to the casino. “Bingo Mama” was known by many.
She is survived by her children, Jean (Paul) Flores, Nancy Thompson, Joseph Sevenski, Kim Sevenski, Kenneth Sevenski, Tamara (Robert) Sevenski-Popma; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Sevenski and sister-in-law, Della Sevenski
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph; son, Gerald; three grandchildren; one great-great grandson; son-in-law, Terry Thompson and daughter-in-law, Julie Sevenski.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 pm Friday, Feb. 23, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 128 Cedar St. Wayland, with Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, Wayland Chapel, 312 Main St. and one hour prior to mass Friday at St. Therese Catholic Church. There will be a Rosary at 7:30 pm Thursday evening.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at St. Augustine Cemetery Boyne Falls.
