Leighton Township Fire Chief Matt Weston has been selected as the first ever full-time fire chief for Leighton. Monday was his first day and a department posting reported, “We all couldn’t be more excited for him. Matt is perfect for this job and excels as a leader for the department, making it the best we can be to provide the best service possible. Here’s to a new chapter!”
Weston was elevated to the part-time chief’s job five years ago when he was a captain, succeeding Tony Banas, who left to take a post with the Otsego department.
