McDonald Modular Solutions seeks location in Dorr

The Dorr Township Planning Commission will receive requests for site plan review, rezoning and a special use permit from McDonald Modular Solutions for a temporary office business.

Hawkeye Properties Inc. developer, is seeking the three requests to accommodate a business that will rent out mobile homes as temporary outdoor offices. The site at the corner of 14th Street and 142nd Avenue east of the downtown, is just north of Bysterveld Park.

McDonald’s Modular Solutions wants to use the site for as many as 75 units that can be used by other businesses at job sites.

The company seeks rezoning of a small parcel zoned agricultural to e-commercial, making it the same as the rest of the 10.16-acre site. It also plans to have two driveways.

The special use permits are being sought to permit the outdoor storage units.

One building on site would be used as a shop area to repair the mobile homes when needed.

The developer is expected to present site plans at the Planning Commission’s next meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 18.
