McDuff’s to fill gap left by closure of Simply Celia’s

Simply Celia’s bakery and restaurant in downtown Wayland has closed its doors, but employees now will work for McDuff’s Bar & Grille, which is expanding its offering to breakfasts in an attempt to fill the gap.

Celia’s has closed after 11 years in business and the location will be taken over by a cannabis retailer.

Owner Celia Gleason posted on Facebook, “River from @McDuff’s offered to take over breakfast so you (customers) would have a place to go, and to bring Stephanie, Julia, Kayley and Theresa on this new venture with her!”

McDuff’s will be open to serve breakfast starting Tuesday, Jan. 10.

She added, “Due to some very difficult life events, I made the tough decision to put the building on the market in May. At that time, my staff was my shield for which I am forever grateful. They made it possible for me to continue.

“An extremely large concern in leaving and starting a new adventure was not for myself but for my staff, for them to be taken care of. That prayer was answered when As for me, I don’t know what my future has in store but I am sure it will be grand!”

Might Fred Upton save the House Republicans and get the government moving? It is a long-shot as The Speaker of the House of Representatives has previously been a seated member of congress. However, It would only take seven Republicans, along with all the Democrats to install Upton. He is one person who might possibly prevent deadlock of all legislation. His name was suggested in several media discussions. One Congressman must propose his name on the floor to see how much support he might get.
