Meat smoker fire closes Town & Country temporarily

The meat smoker caught on fire at the Town & Country Supermarket (formerly Weick’s) on 124th Avenue, Gun Lake, shortly after noon Tuesday. There was minimal smoke damage, but the store was closed for nearly four hours Tuesday. It reopened  at about 4 p.m. There were reports that the market’s butcher was taken to a hospital, but that was not true and he is fine. Employees this afternoon were waiting for the all clear signal from the Martin Fire Department.
