Martin Township officials have indicated a medical marijuana establishment continues to set up shop on 124th Avenue in downtown Shelbyville. Supervisor Glenn Leep has said he asked local zoning enforcement officers to tell the owners that they are violating local zoning laws, but there doesn’t seem to be evidence they have shut down operations as a result. Leep said though medical marijuana use now is legal in Michigan, it cannot be bought or sold in dispensaries. He promises to have some kind of resolution to the problem soon.
