The annual memorial Day tradition of 13319953_10209581264426941_7827020439716226447_nparades, ceremonies and decorating graves in area cemeteries was fulfilled again Monday across the United States. Many witnesses dai the noise level for the parade was considerably less this year, as public safety officers toned down sirens and other sound apparatus. Meanwhile, Wyoming Lee Superintendent David Britten cast aside O-K Silver Conference rivalry concerns to be guest speaker at a Hopkins area ceremony. The tradition of what was one known as Decoration Day is almost 150 years old and has roots in the post-Civil War era.
