Memorial for Rolland West planned for next summer

Rolland Earl West died Saturday, Dec. 5, after a long battle with dementia. He was 84.

He was born in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, on Oct. 11, 1936, to the late G. E. and Edna (Cain) West.

Rolland was a stern, but fair and giving man, who never asked for anything in return.

He is survived by his children Renee (Jim) Kiefer, Bryan (Connie) West, Vaughn (Shelly Lindman) West, and Darrin (Judy) West; grandchildren Erika Kiefer, Michael (Rachael) Kiefer, Josh (Lauren) West, Jared (Jolie) West, and Jeremy Whip; great-grandchildren Molly, Kaydence, Axel, and Aurora; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held. A memorial celebration will be held in the early summer of 2021 to remember and honor this kind man.

In memory of Rolland and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Angel Tree.
