Memorial service Sunday for ’73 grad Ev Ondrovick

Evelyn “Ev” Carol Ondrovick, a 1973 graduate of Wayland High School, died Tuesday at her home in Monroe. She was 67.

Born May 1, 1955, in Wayland, she was one of three children of the late Jacob and Wilma (Eyelander) Kraima. She later continued her education at Monroe Community College to receive her associate degree in accounting and was an accountant for more than 20 years.

Ev married Edward Michaels in 1975. They raised a family of two children and spent more than 26 years together. She then found second love, and married Stephen Ondrovick on July 17, 2004, at the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe. They spent over 15 years together up until his passing in 2019.

Ev was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a talented musician and played the piano or organ at the church for services and in her free time. Ev was very creative and always kept her hands busy. She enjoyed making crafts, afghans, quilts, grandkids costumes, and crocheting. Ev also liked to garden, read, and play video games like Animal Crossing, Mario, and Zelda.

Surviving are her children, Aaron (Andrea) Michaels and Sarah (Adam) Seibert stepdaughters Stephanie Baldwin and Kathrin Ondrovick, grandchildren Jacob Seibert, Bee Seibert, and Charlotte Michaels, step granchildren Martha Baldwin and Kate Rose Baldwin. Step great grandmother of Luna Teubert. Dear sister of Tracy Raimer and Jay (Janet) Kraima.

Besides parents, Ev was preceded in death by her ex-husband Edward Michaels and her husband Steve Ondrovick.

A memorial gathering will be held from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe. A memorial service will conclude the night, starting at 3 pm.
