Mi Guadalajara, Wayland’s newest Mexican restaurant, is changing its name, but not its ownership or operation.
The owners, part of the Bernal family’s chain of Mexican restaurants, has changed its name in order to obtain a liquor license from the State of Michigan. The new name is Don Pocho.
Owners announced on Facebook, “We are beyond excited to introduce ourselves to you! We are Don Pocho, the newest addition to the Bernal family’s chain of Mexican restaurants in Michigan.
“As the newest member of the Bernal restaurant family, founded by Holland, (Mich.) natives Juan & Martin Bernal, we are dedicated to serving you delicious, authentic Mexican dishes made with love and the finest ingredients!”
The owners promise the availability of margaritas soon.
How does changing their name help them get a liquor license? I thought there wasn’t one available?
