Michelle DeYoung-Foster was the recipient of this year’s Katheryn Lorraine Brenner Outstanding Teacher Award.

Mrs. Foster is a science teacher and robotics coach at Wayland Middle School.

The honor is bestowed annually in honor of Kathy Brenner, who died at age 18 of cystic fibrosis in October 1993. The award was established by her parents, former Wayland Supt. Bob and Sandy Brenner.

• 2012 — Linda Anderson, High School Math.

• 2013 — Lori Howell, Steeby Elementary.

• 2014 — Don Mackey, Wayland High School English.

• 2015 — Aleisa Licari. Dorr Elementary.

• 2016 — Laura Foster, Wayland Middle School.

• 2017 — Julie Phillips, Wayland Middle School.

• 2018 — Chris Rupke, Elementary Art.
