T. J. Restau, assistant principal and athletic director at Wayland Middle School, has announced plans to retire June 30 at the end of this academic year.
Restau was hired in 2017 as assistant principal/athletic director for the middle school. Previously he was assistant principal at Wyoming Public Schools for 15 years and was a teacher prior to holding that position. He has served in public education for 30 years.
Restau’s announcement has come at about the same time Tom Cutler, high school principal, is stepping down.
Wayland Union Schools Superintendent Dr. Christina Hinds said, “The search for our next high school principal and middle school assistant principal/athletic director will begin in the spring. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work alongside Mr. Cutler and Mr. Restau. I wish them the very best in their retirement and thank them their service to the Wayland Union Schools community.”
