Carolyn Whyte, principal at Wayland Middle School since 2006, missed the cut as a finalist for the superintendent’s job at Grant Community Schools.
Whyte was one of five finalists interviewed last week at the Grant Middle School cafeteria. One of the applicants withdrew because he took a different job. Grant Board of Education members decided to have the final two interviews with Hesperia Superintendent Vaughn White and Kenowa Hills High School Principal Brett Zuver.
Whyte earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary teaching in social studies in 1999 from Alma College, a master’s degree in secondary school administration in 2003 from central Michigan University and an educational specialist degree in school leadership from Grand Valley State University in 2015.
