The Wayland High School girls’ Girls-Soccervarsity soccer season came to an end Thursday night in the district semifinals with a 2-0 loss to Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.

Middleville, which beat the Lady Wildcats twice earlier this season, was O-K Gold Conference champion.

Holly Hall and freshman Tess Scheidel scored the only goals of the game, one in each half.

The Trojans, sporting a 17-2-1 record for the the season, will take on defending state champion Richland Gull Lake in the district finals Saturday.

Wayland, which was outshot 20-7 in the match, finished the campaign with an 11-8-1 overall season record.
