Jerry Schricker, 75, died at his Salem Township home Saturday, Feb. 11.
He was born Dec. 26, 1941, in Prairieville, the son of Robert and Katie (Whittemore) Schricker. Jerry graduated from Plainwell High School Class of 1961. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1964-1966, working as a mechanic. He retired from Heinz Corp. in Holland in 2004, after 23 years of service.
He enjoyed his time helping with FFA, loved black powder shoots with his kids and grandkids, and had the ability to fix and repair anything for whoever might ask. He also had a great sense of humor and loved to play jokes on his family. Jerry was often seen around the neighborhood walking or riding his bike.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Ann (Selby) whom he married March 18, 1967; his children, Tammy and Ed Schmidt, Jerry Jr. (Rob) and Sherry Schricker; his grandchildren, Ryan and Lindsi Schricker, Jennifer and Lance Grim, Beth Schmidt, Shannon and David Keithley, Devin Weber, Mallory Weber, McKenzie and Charlie Ade, Nolan, Carson and Baleigh Schricker, five great grandchildren, Nora Ade, Riley and Henry Keithley, Savante and Lexi Schmidt. His sister, Shirley and Chet Babrick; and special friends, Bob and Ann Bronkema.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Ben and Josephina Selby.
Friends may meet with the family Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Military graveside services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m., at Salem Twp. Cemetery.
