The Wayland Fire Department Friday night was summoned to a mobile home at Windsor Woods  to handle a fire at the mobile home of Phil Smith.

The occupant, who was at work during the blaze, lost everything he owned but the clothes on his back. Some fiends have come forward, offering some things to get him by day-to-day for now, but extra money is needed to put toward things needed to just be able to start over.

Jackie Baker, who is sponsoring a funding page on the Internet, said, “Honestly, I find it hard to even imagine what it must feel like to be him and have to go through all of this. People who know Phil know how great of a guy and friend he really is, and that he would help in the same situation if he could.”
