Area fire departments and other public safety personnel Friday were in Martin to stage a “mock disaster” program that included students and staff from Martin schools. They were simulating a situation that supposedly occurred near the high school, and teacher was one of those who did not survive the crash. Fire personnel made a point to cut open one of the vehicles and use the “Jaws of Life” to extricate one of the victims.
