More vehicle break-ins reported: this time in City of Wayland

The Wayland Police Department is warning all area citizens to lock their cars and trucks on their property every night.

A Facebook posting from the department said today, “Looks like we had a few car break-ins last night. So far the cars involved were not locked. Please lock your cars and keep valuables out of sight. It’s the time of year some people decide they need a few extra gifts.

“If anyone can provide information that leads to an arrest(s) of the suspect(s), please call the Wayland Police at (269) 792-9366 or Silent Observer at (800) 554 3633.”

Allegan County Sheriff’s deputies have reported some vehicle break-ins as well in Leighton and Dorr townships. Deputy Bernard Austof last month told Dorr Township Board officials the cure is very simple — lock your doors.
