An explosion and fire early Friday morning destroyed a Wayland Township home, routing six people inside.
Wayland and Yankee Springs firefighters arrived at the scene and reported the house, located on Sunrise Lane west of Patterson Road, was a total loss. All six people were able to escape without serious injuries.
Allegan County 911 dispatch indicated the call came in about 3 a.m.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
