Multi-vehicle pileup on 131 reported near Plainwell

The Gun Plain Township Fire Department Saturday morning reported a multi-vehicle pileup on the U.S.-131 expressway at near the 51-mile marker, about four miles south of the Martin exit. Authorities are directing traffic and motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route. There were indications that more than 100 vehicles were involved, but the scene was cleared by early afternoon Saturday.
