Nathan Fliearman, 13, dies of Batten Disease

4006765_wlppNathan James Fliearman, age 13, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 after an eight-year battle with Batten Disease.

Nathan was born April 6, 2003, in Grand Rapids, the second of three sons born to Michael and Heidi (Miller) Fliearman. Nathan was involved in Middleville school programs and despite his disease and disability, was a daily blessing to his loving family.

Nathan is survived by his father and mother: Michael and Heidi Fliearman of Yankee Springs; his brothers: Jackson Fliearman and Eli Fliearman; his grandparents: Michael and Cathy Fliearman; his aunts and uncles: Heather Miller, Becky and Ryan Pusztai, Amanda and Allen Kaatz, and Mark and Allison Fliearman; and his cousins: Logan, Paige, Ella, Aliz, Jacob, Lily, Emily and Katie.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Judy (Henning) Miller.

A private graveside service will take place in Coman Cemetery in Yankee Springs Township.

Nathan’s family would like to give special thanks to his nurses at Community Caregivers and to all his doctors and members of his medical team throughout the last eight years.
