Roger and Joni Masselink will take over as new owners of the Yankee Springs Golf Course on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Members of the Tichvon family, who have owned the course for 54 years, said in a letter to patrons, “They (the Masselinks) are very excited to meet you and look forward to your friendship. We ask that you to support them in their future endeavors and show them the same kindness you have shared with us.”

The Tichvon family said in the letter that improvements will be in the works for the course.

Frank Tichvon launched the golf course on his farm in 1963 and his family reopened the course in 2010.

Located near Wayland and Middleville as well as Gun Lake and Yankee Springs Recreational Area, the course is described as a casual, relaxed golf atmosphere at reasonable prices. It includes 27 holes and an 18-hole disc golf course and a full-menu restaurant and bar.

You have an employee. She has short hair around 175 lbs blonde brown hair that was playing on the course in a foursome. With an older couple and a younger guy. They exhibited no etiquette. They hit into us on a packed course at least five times. All because she had to work at a specific time. And we were on a packed course. Her friend she was with almost hit my wife in the head with no warning. Vocally. It took them the fith time after I caught the last ball the hit on the bounce to approach us and apologize. It wasn't even your employee it was there playing companions. Pretty sad that's what this course represents on a nice day and it's packed. Player safety isn't even a concern especially , by someone who works there.
