The Hopkins girls’ basketball team’s overall season record fell to 5-11 Friday evening at Grandville Calvin Christian in a 57-28 defeat.

The Vikings spotted the home team 15-5 in the first quarter and didn’t ever really get anything going until the final eight minutes. They trailed 48-11 after three periods.

Bayless Roys scored seven points for Hopkins and Ellen Bregg and Bailey Ballard each had five.

Hilary Curry and Emily VanVliet both netted 15 points for the Squires.

Calvin Christian, now 7-0 in the O-K Silver Conference, is 13-3 overall. Hopkins is 4-3 in league play.
