In response to pressure from community members, the Orangeville Township Board plans to vote on an ordinance on use of bubblers/aerators, at its next meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2.

This after one portion of Gun Lake’s South Shore was kept as open water this winter. Lucas Spoor, owner of the controversial Landing Marina, has benefited from the installment of an aerator. Aerators, also known as bubblers, are commonly used to prevent ice damage to docks during the winter months.

“This [the melted ice] has been an ongoing safety hazard through the winter, so I encourage residents to support this,” Deb Masselink posted to Facebook, a Gun Lake resident and longtime opponent of the Landing Marina.
