Brixton Way Events will bring plans to build a multi-purpose outdoor events center to the Leighton Township Planning Commission at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Leighton Township Hall.
Brixton Way Events is asking for a Class 2 Special Use Permit for a facility at 3671 10th St. on the east side of the north-south road off Division just north of the Wayland Chrysler dealership.
The developer intends to have wedding receptions and parties and will have outdoor as well as indoor space available to customers. Plans call for a capacity of 250.
The company’s web site explains, “One of the biggest questions that many event planners may deal with is whether to host an event indoors or outdoors. There are pros and cons to both.
“At Brixton Way, we designed the facility around the idea that our guests can enjoy the best of both worlds. Often times we choose to have an event inside because it is safe, more manageable and less stressful; especially when we are talking about the unpredictable Michigan weather… We pride ourselves in creating a place that embraces the best of the indoors and outdoors in one elegant setting.
“The Grand Hall consists of 40′ x 100′ pavilion. Its open structure includes collapsible walls, should the weather take a turn for the worse. If the sun is shining and the temps are perfect, the walls come up and the attendees enjoy some fresh air. After all, if your event just happens to land on a beautiful day, why not make the most of it?
“From the Grand Hall, two walkways branch off towards the (Rabbit) river and attach to the bathrooms and catering prep area. In the event of rain, no one gets wet walking to and from the dining area because the walkways have covered roofs to keep you and your guests dry.
“Our Garden Courtyard is the heart of Brixton. A spacious 80’x30′ external cobblestone patio allows for multiple options for our guests.
“Want the dancing to happen outside? No problem, have the DJ set up on the patio. Need a place to host a cocktail hour? Let’s fill the place with standing tables and move the bar cart outside.
“With this modular design, Brixton Way truly is a place that can custom fit your needs. If you have any questions, we would love to have a conversation with you. Please feel free to email us at info@brixtonway.com”
