This gentleman holding a cardboard sign is causing a bit of a stir in Dorr Township lately. The panhandler often can be seen at the corner of 142nd Avenue and 18th Street near the traffic light, claiming to passing motorists that he is homeless and seeking donations. The photo bomber behind him insists he’s not homeless and is perpetrating a scam. The subject came up at last Tuesday night’s Dorr Township Board meeting when Chandler Stanton asked local officials to consider a panhandling ordinance similar to that used by Kentwood. Such an ordinance would restrict hours and where such activities may take place. Supervisor Jeff Miling said he would look into the matter. (Photo supplied)
