A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on northbound U.S.-131 expressway near the Shelbyville exit (No. 59) Northbound Friday afternoon.
Traffic was shut down by authorities for almost an hour and a half after the incident occurred at about 3:40 p.m. Motorists were diverted off the freeway south of the crash, at the Martin exit (No. 55).
Authorities cleared the scene at about 5 p.m. Friday.
Further details about the victim and the incident were not readily available.
I passed by the accident southbound literally within 45 seconds of it happening. If someone can give me an update on the condition of the man hit I would appreciate it.
