Rob Grigsby denies anything is happening at his residence.

WOOD-TV Channel 8 News has identified Rob Grigsby, a 1987 Wayland High School graduate, as a person of interest Monday’s police raid of his house at 603 West Maple St. while investigating cases that may involve sex trafficking and drug offenses.

Grigsby, who is a widower for three years after the death of his wife, Lisa, has been reported to be an an employee of Lacks Industries in Grand Rapids. When a 24 Hour News 8 reporter knocked on his door, he denied that anything is going on at his residence but acknowledged to her that, “I know how it looks.”

Grigsby has not yet been arrested or charged with anything, causing neighbors on Maple Street to decline to say anything publicly. However, some said they have seen a lot of traffic in and out of the house over the past couple of years. They said they observed mostly men walk up to the door to be greeted by a woman before entering the house or going to a trailer parked in the driveway.

Wayland police earlier this week reported  they found evidence of sex trafficking and drug crimes during a search of Grgisby’s home Monday. They said they found what they believe to be cocaine and heroin, as well as electronic devices containing evidence of drug and sex crimes.

Wayland City Police Chief Mark Garnsey said his department, the Wayland post of the Michigan State Police and the FBI have been investigating an alleged sex trafficking ring since last October and have evidence dating back to the year before that.

The Allegan County Prosecutor’s office is reviewing evidence, though no charges have been filed as yet.
