Pet Milk retiree, business owner Jim Snyder, 77, dies

James Snyder died Tuesday, June 15, at the Laurels of Galesburg. He was 77.

He was born Nov. 28, 1943, in Plainwell, the son of Kenneth and Waneta Snyder. Jim worked at Mac Sim Bar, Merco, had owned and operated Jim’s Small Engine Repair and retired from Pet Milk in Wayland. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and cards, especially Rummy.

Surviving are his wife, Rhonda; sons, Mike Snyder of Kalamazoo, Tom (Kathy) Snyder of Caro and Rodney Snyder of Otsego; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jesse) Shady and Matthew (Chelsea) Snyder; 2 great-grandchildren, Macianna and Alex along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron Snyder.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.

Contributions in memory of Jim may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Heart Association.
