“I couldn’t be more thankful and excited for this opportunity,” she said. “My work will be on display at the large, historic First (Park) Congregational Church in downtown Grand Rapids, near the public library.

“Things always seem to work out how they’re meant to be, I couldn’t be happier that this venue opened their doors to me! Thank you ALL for your support and kind words of encouragement, they mean so much to me. Lots to do between now and September.”

Ms. Carter’s son Perry is a junior at Wayland High School and is one of the top distance runners for the cross country and track teams. Obviously, she takes pictures of his athletic exploits.

Ms. Carter, a 1984 graduate of St. Lawrence University, lives in Martin. She took this amazing photo off the coast of the Altantic Ocean in Maine earlier this month while visiting her mother.
