Dennie Corbin, 70, of Plainwell was killed Saturday morning when his motorcycle crashed in Yankee Springs Township.
Barry County sheriff’s deputies said Corbin was riding about 11:35 a.m. M-179 near Briggs Road east of Wayland when the crash occurred. Authorities indicated Corbin, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his vehicle.
Authorities didn’t say what caused the crash, but said speed and alcohol didn’t appear to be factors.
Responding to the scene were Yankee Springs and Wayland Fire Departments, medical first responders, a Wayland Area EMS Crew, and Barry County Sheriff’s deputies.
“We were sorry to disrupt the motoring public from start to finish of the incident, but that’s the way it happens,” a fire department spokesperson said.
