Polka band drummer Dorothy Krulac dies at age 93

Dorothy Ann Krulac, age 93, formerly of Dorr and Wayland, Sunday, Nov. 12.

Dorothy and her late husband Frank met at the “Dixie” and after six months they were married on Nov. 10, 1945.

Dorothy was a drummer in a polka band with her husband and Robert Kaczanowski. They played for many occasions in the area for several years and at “Simple Simons” in North Dorr.

She is survived by her daughter Rosemary (David); sister Josephine Chrusciel; brother Roman (Colleen) Marklevitz; sisters-in-law Josephine Banas, Eleanor Marker, Helen (Tom) Fox, Betty Krulac (Schneider); and cousin Brother Paul Belco OFM of Pulaski, Wisconsin who has been very supportive. Longtime friend and working partner Patricia “Pat” Wiman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and son Mark, by her parents Peter and Rose Marklevitz, mother and father -in-law Nick and Mary Krulac, along with two brothers and three sisters.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at St. Therese Catholic Church. Presiding will be Father Alphonse Savarimuthu with Deacon Jeff Ryan assisting. Interment will be at SS Cyril & Methodius.

Family and friends will visit with Dorothy’s family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 312 N. Main St., Wayland and one hour prior to Mass at the church Friday. Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday.
