Former Wayland High School standout Presley Hudson is overcoming a slow start in her sophomore season at Central Michigan University.
The former all-stater, Miss Basketball runner-up and Freshman of the Year in the Mid-American Conference last season, scored 18 points in the Chippewas’ fifth straight victory last week after averaging just six points a game in the first two contests. She also dished out seven assists and made all six of her free throw attempts.
Hudson, daughter of Wayland boys’ head coach Mike Hudson and sister of girls’ varsity coach Wes Hudson, now is averaging just over 13 points per game. She leads the team in assists.
CMU’s five straight victories has brought the team’s record thus far to 6-2 overall.
