Presley Hudson scores 53 points in first 2 collegiate hoops contests

Presley CMUCentral Michigan University freshman Presley Hudson has been named (High-Major) Madness National Player of the Week for her outstanding performance this weekend in the Chippewas’ first two ballgames.

Hudson, a four-year starter for Wayland High School during her prep career, led the Chippewas in scoring with 53 points over the two games, averaging 26.5 during the weekend. Hudson led all scorers with 21 points in the season opener against Indiana State and again in Sunday’s match-up recording 32 points in CMU’s 110-87 win over Oakland.

Hudson shot an impressive 60 percent from the floor (21-of-35) and was lights out from three-point range making nearly 50 percent of her attempts (8-of-17). She also led the Maroon and Gold in steals (5) and averaged 4.5 rebounds and assists in the pair of wins.

The daughter of Wayland High School varsity coach Mike Hudson, she has two brothers, Wes and Avery, who also have made their mark on the court for the Wildcats.
