Central Mpresley-hudson3ichigan University sophomore guard Presley Hudson did it again — she snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Hudson, a 2015 graduate and all-stater for Wayland High School, drilled game-tying three-point basket with three seconds left in regulation, then scored a contested layup as time expired in overtime as the Chippewas pulled out a thrilling 73-71 nonconference win Friday over Saint Joseph’s at McGuirk Arena.

Trailing by 12 points with just over 3 minutes left in regulation, a victory did not seem to be in the cards for the Central Michigan women’s basketball team.

Hudson, who scored a buzzer beater as a freshman last year to pull out a victory, finished the OT game with 20 points and seven rebounds. She is third on the team in scoring at 13.6 per game, far and away leads in assists and has made 91.7% percent of her free throw attempts thus far this season. She was voted Freshman of the Year last year in the Mid-American Conference.

She is the daughter of Wayland head varsity basketball coach Mike Hudson and girls’ varsity coach Wes Hudson.
