Presley Hudson nails a three in a pre-season game for the Seattle Storm.

The defending WNBA champion Seattle Storm Wednesday afternoon waived Presley Hudson, effectively halting her efforts to play in the professional league.

Hudson, former all-state ballplayer at Wayland High School and NCAA champion in free throw and three-point shooting, was one of four players released by the Storm.

Though she was not drafted this year after playing four years at Central Michigan, she signed with the Storm and attended training camp earlier this month. Hudson played in two preseason games, and made three three-pointers and finished with nine points in a loss to Phoenix. Hudson was 4-for-8 from three-point range in the two contests.

Hudson finished her collegiate career as CMU’s all-time leader in career points, in a game, three-point field goals, assists and freet throw percentage.

She is the daughter of now retired Wayland High School basketball coach Mike Hudson and sister of girls’ varsity coach Wes Hudson.
