Private family service set next month for Betty Lee, 91

Betty Lou Lee, age 91, of Wayland, died Friday, May 22.

Betty was an active member with her St. Peter’s Lutheran Church family in Dorr over the years. She volunteered her time and was known for her love of baking, making everything from pies, bread, and most importantly, her cookies!

A longtime secretary at the Wayland Globe, she set an example of how to be a good mom and her willingness to volunteer throughout the community brought her joy.

She is survived by her daughters Sally (Keith) Mumma, Sheryl (Alan) Brown, Janet (Richard) Bredeweg, Nancy (Harry) Stoddard, Lisa (James) Erickson; grandchildren Christopher, Susan, Joscelyn (Nick), Lauren (Ben), Audra (Dave), Melissa (Adam), Thomas (Bobbi), Juliana, Andrew (Nicole), Kaleigh, Luke; great-grandchildren and her sister, Connie (Bill) Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee, and daughter, Susan Lee.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private, family-only service will be held in June.

In memory of Betty and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Faith Hospice – Trillium Woods.
